  • 🧈 1 cup vegetable shortening
  • 🍬 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 🍁 1 cup brown sugar
  • 🥚 2 large eggs
  • 🍦 1 tsp vanilla
  • 🥜 1 cup peanut butter (smooth supermarket style, not natural)
  • 🌾 3 cups flour
  • 🥤 2 tsp baking soda
  • 🧂 0.5 tsp salt

  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 large bowl
  • 1 fork

📝 Instructions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a baking sheet.

Step 2

In a large bowl, beat together the vegetable shortening, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, and peanut butter (smooth supermarket style, not natural). Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt and add to the peanut butter mixture, stirring to combine.

Step 3

Drop cookies by spoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet and press down with a fork, making a crisscross design. Bake cookies for 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove from the oven and cool on a rack.
