Chocolate Mint Squares¶

Ingredients¶
6 Tbsp unsalted butter
0.5 cup cocoa
2 cups confectioners' sugar
3 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 Mint Filling
1 tsp milk
Cookware¶
- 1 8 inch square pan
- 1 foil
- 1 small saucepan
Instructions¶
Step 1¶
Line 8 inch square pan with foil, extending foil over edges of pan.
Step 2¶
Melt unsalted butter in small saucepan over low heat; add cocoa.
Step 3¶
Cook, stirring constantly, just until mixture is smooth. Remove from heat; add confectioners' sugar, 3 tablespoons milk and vanilla.
Step 4¶
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is glossy.
Step 5¶
Spread half of mixture into prepared pan. Refrigerate.
Step 6¶
Meanwhile, prepare Mint Filling; spread filling over chocolate layer. Refrigerate 10 minutes.
Step 7¶
To remaining chocolate mixture in saucepan, add remaining 1 teaspoon milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth. Spread quickly over filling. Refrigerate until firm.
Step 8¶
Use foil to lift candy out of pan; peel off foil. Cut candy into squares. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.
