- 1.5 cups dark molasses
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 0.67 cup cold water
- 0.33 cup vegetable shortening
- 1 cookie-cutters
Mix dark molasses, brown sugar, cold water, and vegetable shortening. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Roll out dough and cut with cookie-cutters.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
While they are still warm, spread evenly with lemon glaze.
Cool before frosting with Royal icing.
