Bourbon Grilled Cheese¶

Ingredients¶
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 0.25 tsp salt
- 0.25 tsp pepper
- 1 Tbsp Bourbon
- 1.5 tsp butter
- 8 slices sourdough bread
- 6 oz cheddar cheese
- 6 oz Gruyère cheese

- 1 large skillet
Instructions¶
Step 1¶
Heat olive oil in large skillet. Add thinly sliced onion and cook for 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
Step 2¶
Stir in brown sugar, salt and pepper. Add Bourbon, scraping up brown bits in bottom of skillet. Stir 1.5 tsp butter into mix.
Step 3¶
Spread remaining butter on sourdough bread.
Step 4¶
Top each slice with cheddar cheese and Gruyère cheese and onion mixture.
Step 5¶
Grill 3 to 4 minutes.
