Roasted Delicata Squash¶

Ingredients¶
1 large delicata squash
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
0.13 tsp cayenne pepper
Sweet Variation¶
2 Tbsp maple syrup
2 Tbsp olive oil
½ tsp cinnamon
Cookware¶
- 1 spoon
- 1 rimmed baking sheet
- 1 parchment paper or a silicone mat
- 1 cutting board
- 1 large bowl
Instructions¶
Step 1¶
Cut the ends off of the delicata squash and cut in half lengthwise. Using a spoon, scrape out the seeds and filling.
Step 2¶
Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
Step 3¶
Place squash halves cut-side down on a cutting board. Cut into ⅜-inch slices; transfer slices to a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil; add salt and cayenne pepper. Toss until squash is well coated. Arrange squash in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
Sweet Variation
A sweet variable can be made by using maple syrup, olive oil, and cinnamon.
Step 4¶
Bake in the preheated oven until the bottoms are browned and squash is tender, 12 to 18 minutes.
