Tante Myrn's Split Pea Soup¶

Ingredients¶
1 pkg green peas
3 carrots
3 stalks celery
1 onion
2 cloves garlic
2 potatoes
1 ham bone or ham hock
1 tsp salt
0.5 tsp marjoram
0.5 tsp pepper
0.5 tsp celery salt
1 cup ham pieces

- 1 hand blender
Instructions¶
Step 1¶
1 Package dried green peas
Step 2¶
3 carrots chopped
Step 3¶
3 stalk celery chopped
Step 4¶
1 onion chopped
Step 5¶
2 cloves garlic
Step 6¶
2 potatoes cut in cubes
Step 7¶
Boil green peas, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, and cubed potatoes in 6 cups of water until tender with a ham bone or ham hock, about 1.5 to 2 hours.
Step 8¶
Then blend all together with a hand blender until soup is smooth.
Step 9¶
Then add 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp marjoram, ½ tsp pepper, ½ tsp celery salt and 1 cup cubed or diced ham pieces.
Step 10¶
Simmer for 15 minutes.
