Garlic Chana Dal

Ingredients
400 g dal (split chickpeas)
1500 g water
1 tsp turmeric
1.5 tsp salt
3 Tbsp ghee or oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
8 cloves garlic
1 tsp chili powder
1 large handful coriander

Instructions
Step 1
Give the dal (split chickpeas) a rinse. Place them in a pan with 1500 ml of water, turmeric powder, and salt. Bring it to a boil and then cook for 1 hour.
Step 2
Add 3 Tbsp of ghee or oil to hot a pan. Add the cumin seeds and thinly sliced garlic. Cook for 3 minutes or until golden.
Step 3
Add the chili powder and coriander. Stir through and then add the dal. Cook for 2 minutes.
Step 4
I like to serve mine with onion and pea pulao. Time to tuck in!
