Mushroom Rice Burgers¶

Ingredients¶
1 medium onion
2 cloves garlic
8 oz white mushrooms
1 cup brown rice
0.5 cup quick oats
0.75 cup cheddar cheese
1 egg
some salt
some pepper
3 Tbsp bread crumbs
Cookware¶
- 1 skillet
- 1 large bowl
Instructions¶
Step 1¶
Heat skillet. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic until brown, about 4 minutes. Add chopped white mushrooms, cook until liquid has evaporated. Stir in cooked brown rice and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat and transfer mixture to large bowl. Stir in quick oats, grated cheddar cheese, and egg. Add salt and pepper. If mixture seems wet, add bread crumbs.
Step 2¶
Cover mixture and refrigerate 3 to 4 hours. Make 4 patties and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Step 3¶
On grill, cook 4 to 6 minutes per side.
