🧂 Ingredients

  • 🥡 0.5 cup (120 g) tamari
  • 🍬 0.25 cup (53 g) brown sugar
  • 🍠 1.5 tsp fresh ginger (minced)
  • 🧄 1 tsp garlic (minced)
  • 🍯 1 Tbsp (21 g) honey
  • 🫒 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 🍷 3 Tbsp mirin
  • 💧 0.25 cup (57 g) water
  • 🌰 3 tsp (7 g) cornstarch

  • 🥘 1 small saucepan
  • 🥣 1 bowl

📝 Instructions

Step 1

Combine 🥡 tamari, 🍬 brown sugar, minced 🍠 fresh ginger, minced 🧄 garlic, 🍯 honey, 🫒 sesame oil, and 🍷 mirin in a small saucepan.

Step 2

In a bowl, mix 💧 water with 🌰 cornstarch.

Step 3

Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan.

Step 4

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 4 minutes.

Step 5

Remove from heat and let cool.

Tip

If using as a marinade, omit the cornstarch and let the sauce cool completely before using.
