Teriyaki Sauce¶

Ingredients¶
0.5 cup (120 g) tamari
0.25 cup (53 g) brown sugar
1.5 tsp fresh ginger (minced)
1 tsp garlic (minced)
1 Tbsp (21 g) honey
1 tsp sesame oil
3 Tbsp mirin
0.25 cup (57 g) water
3 tsp (7 g) cornstarch
Cookware¶
1 small saucepan
1 bowl
Instructions¶
Step 1¶
Combine tamari,
brown sugar, minced
fresh ginger, minced
garlic,
honey,
sesame oil, and
mirin in a small saucepan.
Step 2¶
In a bowl, mix water with
cornstarch.
Step 3¶
Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan.
Step 4¶
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 4 minutes.
Step 5¶
Remove from heat and let cool.
Tip
If using as a marinade, omit the cornstarch and let the sauce cool completely before using.
