Old-Fashioned Vinegar Pie Southern Living¶

Ingredients¶
1 Single-Crust Pie Pastry
4 large eggs
0.5 cup (99 g) granulated sugar
0.5 cup (107 g) light brown sugar
0.5 tsp (2 g) vanilla extract
6 Tbsp (85 g) unsalted butter
2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp (42 g) honey
2 Tbsp (15 g) all-purpose flour
0.75 tsp (4 g) kosher salt
powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions¶
Step 1¶
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Step 2¶
Roll out the Single-Crust Pie Pastry and fit it into a 9-inch pie plate.
Step 3¶
Blind bake the crust (using pie weights) at 350°F for 20 minutes, then remove weights and bake for another 10 minutes until lightly browned.
Step 4¶
In a medium bowl, whisk together the large eggs, granulated sugar, light brown sugar, vanilla extract, melted unsalted butter, apple cider vinegar, honey, all-purpose flour, and kosher salt until smooth.
Step 5¶
Pour the filling into the pre-baked crust.
Step 6¶
Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. The pie is done when the center is firm and doesn't jiggle when tapped.
Step 7¶
Let the pie cool completely to room temperature so the custard sets.
Step 8¶
Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
