  • 🍞 1 Single-Crust Pie Pastry
  • 🥚 4 large eggs
  • 🍬 0.5 cup (99 g) granulated sugar
  • 🍬 0.5 cup (107 g) light brown sugar
  • 🎴 0.5 tsp (2 g) vanilla extract
  • 🧈 6 Tbsp (85 g) unsalted butter
  • 🍎 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 🍯 2 Tbsp (42 g) honey
  • 🍞 2 Tbsp (15 g) all-purpose flour
  • 🧂 0.75 tsp (4 g) kosher salt
  • 🍬 powdered sugar (for dusting)

📝 Instructions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Step 2

Roll out the Single-Crust Pie Pastry and fit it into a 9-inch pie plate.

Step 3

Blind bake the crust (using pie weights) at 350°F for 20 minutes, then remove weights and bake for another 10 minutes until lightly browned.

Step 4

In a medium bowl, whisk together the large eggs, granulated sugar, light brown sugar, vanilla extract, melted unsalted butter, apple cider vinegar, honey, all-purpose flour, and kosher salt until smooth.

Step 5

Pour the filling into the pre-baked crust.

Step 6

Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. The pie is done when the center is firm and doesn't jiggle when tapped.

Step 7

Let the pie cool completely to room temperature so the custard sets.

Step 8

Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
